Cellmark has a team of forensic anthropologists and archaeologists to support the location, recovery and identification of human remains and has extensive experience of working with police forces in the UK and overseas in cases of burial, fatal fires and explosions.
Working alongside Cellmark’s specialist DNA experts we are able to offer an unparalleled body and bone identification service and disaster victim identification (DVI) response capability. We are frequently asked if bones or fragments of bone are human and if they are likely to be of recent origin, and therefore of potential interest to the police. To expedite the process you can now simply send us photographs (a maximum of six) of the bones to firstname.lastname@example.org for a quick opinion. We operate a free BonesID service, Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays), between the hours of 8.30am and 5pm.
If you need to take advantage of the service outside of these of hours, please call us on 01235 552300. The service will be chargeable. If necessary, the enquiry can be followed up by scene attendance or submission of items for further analysis.
