Course Summary

Cellmark’s Specialist Forensic Service (SFS) team includes some of the most experienced Forensic Anthropologists and Archaeologists in the UK. We have many years of experience collaborating with Forensic Pathologists, Paediatric Pathologists, Medical Imaging Specialists and experts from many diverse forensic disciplines with the ultimate aim of achieving victim identification, interpretation of skeletal injuries and reconstructing events surrounding the deaths of individuals in criminal, coronial and humanitarian investigations. The team regularly works with UK and international law enforcement agencies and provides expert evidence in court.

Our casework includes searches for people who are missing, presumed deceased, examinations of human remains within a vast range of environments, mortuary and laboratory examinations of significantly altered remains, through to multiple fatality DVI incidents.

The awareness session will introduce you to the extensive, and in many cases unique / bespoke services that we can provide to support your investigations. We will provide insight into the current landscape of our disciplines within the UK, introduce our team, discuss the critical importance of demonstration of scientific competency and provide case examples to illustrate what we can contribute to examinations involving burnt, disrupted, fragmented, decomposed and skeletalised remains.

There will be an opportunity for a Q&A session at the end of the presentation.

NB: This awareness session is aimed at Coroners and Forensic Pathologists working within the UK.
