Cellmark milestones
- 1987 - First forensic cases tested in UK and US laboratories.
- 1991 - First forensic DNA laboratory to use Short Tandem Repeat (STR)
Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing for human identification of casualties
in the Gulf War.
- 2002 - Innovative collaboration to develop Single Nucleotide Polymorphism
(SNP) based genotyping tests to identify the large number of 9/11 World
Trade Centre victims for whom conventional identification methods had
failed.
- 2003 - Awarded scene-of-crime forensic DNA testing services for Metropolitan
Police through strategic partner Forensic Alliance.
- 2004 - Awarded exclusive contract to conduct forensic DNA testing for
Los Angeles Police Department.
- 2004 - Awarded forensic DNA testing services for Thames Valley Police
through strategic partner Forensic Alliance.
- 2006 - Awarded City of London PACE forensic DNA testing contract.
- 2006 - Wins Kent & Sussex Police forensic DNA tender as Cellmark
Forensic Services.
- 2007 - Cellmark celebrates its 20th anniversary.
- 2008 - Cellmark opens second UK laboratory in Chorley.
- 2008 - Cellmark pleased to have been able to help the Metropolitan Police
in the investigation of murder of Rachel Nickell.
- 2009 - Cellmark wins PACE & Volume Crime contract for Thames Valley
Police.
- 2010 - Cellmark Successful in DNA Analysis of Fromelles War Grave Samples.
- 2010 - Cellmark wins Crime Scene Stains contract as part of the East
Midlands Regional Police tender, and adds 5 new customers.
