For almost 20 years Cellmark has been providing DNA services on behalf of the UK's leading police forces.

In 2001 Cellmark formed a strategic partnership with Forensic Alliance (FAL). As part of that partnership Cellmark supplies 50% of the Metropolitan Police's DNA requirements. In 2004 Thames Valley Police awarded the partnership an exclusive contract to undertake all DNA work.

In 2006 FAL was taken over by LGC, another leading forensic supplier, and subsequently Cellmark has been able to market itself direct to Police forces outside of that partnership agreement.

Since that time Cellmark has been awarded the contract for the City of London Police and subsequently has won the competitive tendering process to supply the PACE and volume crime DNA services for Kent & Sussex forces.
